Formulation Improvement and/or Additional Nutrition Needed

  • While a 400mg of choline is a good choice, choline bitartrate is a form found to increase TMAO levels compared to eggs or phosphatidylcholine
  • Needed takes the stance that B12 is too low in prenatals and that it should be higher (200mcg, 7,143% of the DV) for optimal levels. While this may be true for those who struggle to absorb B12, are clinically low in B12 based on bloodwork, are taking medications that deplete B12, or following a diet that does not supply B12, it is not true for the majority of people who have healthy B12 levels. B12 is stored in the liver, and using a highly absorbable form of B12 also decreases the amount needed in a formula. Humans have evolved over hundreds of thousands of years to procreate and getting of B12 from their diet, and I would argue you can get too much B12 through supplemental levels never consumed in the diet, create an excess methyl groups and potentially deplete lithium, a B12 carrier.
  • B5, riboflavin, B5 and B6 are also potentially unnecessarily high
  • You will still need to make sure you are getting more calcium, and also EPA and DHA in addition to this formula
  • If your iron levels are low and you need to supplement, that will also have to be added
