FAQ
Answers to common questions about PhytoVest and The Healthbeat.
Is PhytoVest really free? What's the catch?
No catch. We decided that with inflation, rising food costs, gas costs, and housing costs, the last thing people needed were more bills. The founder wanted to create a tool that could bring health equality to a flawed system and empower people to be their own health advocates. You are welcome to donate to The Health Beat if you find value in your analysis, but it is not required.
How accurate is the PhytoVest analysis?
PhytoVest uses the RDI set from the USDA to determine micronutrient intake percentages. The dietary percentages are averaged over 7 days, and the accuracy is dependent on your dietary recall, food diary and supplement intake.
Recommendations for phytonutrients, myconutrients, and probiotic strains are based on published research recommendations, or in some cases, educated estimates based on limited research. When research is not available, this is stated in the target amounts.
The PhytoVest score is determined by how many of the recommended phytonutrients, myconutrients, or probiotic strains you are getting at the designated levels. All micronutrients that are short of 100% of the RDI will also be displayed as relevant. A score of under 100 does not imply an increased risk of any related health disorders, nor does a score of 100 imply guaranteed protection against any disease.

Does PhytoVest collect data anonymously?
Yes. As a clinical nutritionist and founder of a nutrigenomic testing company, I am interested in discovering patterns that could reduce the incidence of disease in our population.
For example, PhytoVest could help discover micronutrient, phytonutrient, mycochemical or probioitic strain deficiencies that are consistent with those who have breast or prostate cancer in a certain demographic. We want to contribute by starting to reverse disease statistics, and with your help, we can for current and future generations.
I have some questions regarding my health after receiving my results. Can I ask you?
Any questions regarding your health should be sent to your health care practitioner. If you have any issues with the software or receiving your results, let us know.
Does PhytoVest test macronutrients?
No, we don’t analyze protein, fat, fiber and carbohydrate intake. The PhytoVest software’s objective is to focus on micronutrients, phytonutrients, mycochemicals and probiotic strains for disease prevention.
Does PhytoVest make supplement recommendations?
PhytoVest reports supplement dosage recommendations based on published research and has curated the top companies products for specific phytonutrients, myconutrients, and probiotic strains in your results. These companies have been vetted for organic or wild-crafted practices, full spectrum formulations for plants, hot water or alcohol extracts without mycelium or grain fillers, and substantial testing for safety.
